Here is a funny saga to the electrical. We happened upon a funny quirk thing that seems impossible but it happened. The heart (inverter to AC) was off and we plugged lila's electric water dish (yes she is so spoiled, we bought a running water bowl cuz she only drinks from a faucet and since water is limited we cant just run water so we have a water bowl that is like a water fountain) then we went to turn on the heart but the water dish was running so the electricity was "on" somehow. So that would point back to the heart. It never turns off it is always inverting power? Or something like that. We have not found the off/on switch to the heart yet or the connector to unplug the hard wires. That might be our next lay over Mensa puzzler for the day.
We are finally in Maine! Amazing! We sailed around a bunch of islands with current. We are in jewel island - most popular- on the weekend. Yesterday when we arrived there was a huge catch sailboat (maybe 55-60 feet) it was dragging anchor. People around were horn honking but not helping try to get on it. Finally we dropped anchor and ben went in his kayak to see if anything he could do... Then a person finally got in a dinghy ... Still nothing they could do. Then a lobster boat came in the bay and the owners who were on shore got in their boat. The lobster guys pulled them off the rocks. Phew. There were those weeds on his anchor. I thought oh great. The book said it was a 4 for anchoring with great mud. Then three other boat left cuz they could not hold. We were on the end of the line of boats in the bay. We picked up the anchor to see if we had weeds in the deep. Nope so we reset. We held good all night. Of course it helps when the wind is under 15k.
The next day we got up and explored the island. It was great fun! It is like a super sized bwca!!! Lila wanted to come with! She is not afraid of water! She jumped into bens kayak as if to say "you are takin me with!" she was a great walking cat today. She bounded down the trails. She pounced sideways and up she came with the chubbiest mouse you ever did see! Then she started going back to the kayaks. "no Lila, we are walking this way. You can't bring the mouse to the boat. Your options are 1. Drop it now! 2 eat it quickly or 3 carry it in your mouth." she chose 1drop it with a little persuasion from Ben. Wow this was her first mouse that we know of. Maybe in Deltaville all that night curousin taught her to catch mice unbeknown to me!
We walked in tide pools where I caught a tiny crab! Oh brave of me! Ben almost had a 3 inch lobster but once he grabbed it then it wiggled and he dropped it like a girl. Ha ha ha just kidding. He looked like a girl ha ha ha just kidding! I have to say somethings that he can't read about. I did tell him the score is: Pam 2 crabs, Ben 0 and 1/2 a wiggly lobster. Ha ha lol lol
Tonight we ate spaghetti and Oreos. Yumm. We have been sleeping outside too. Now it is getting colder like50 at night. I'm so sad I did not bring my winter jacket. I do love my down sleeping bag!
And now Saturday night here in this bay is crowded! Oh my! I've never been so close to anchored people. I'm feeling good our anchor is set. I cranked it in reverse.
So now we are sailing! No schedule for 3 weeks just gunk hole-ing.
Ben loves our fog horn he can't wait till we have fog so he can toot away. I'm sure fog will come some day too soon for me. Ha ha
Ok there is cell phone coverage off and on so I'll quick send with no pictures today. May God bless you richly!
oh pam ... oh ben ...

got to the lake around noon ... got the c boat ready for tim and lara ... took out a few guests ... then went on a sailboat ride with alberto brian and friends in the big catalina 27 ...
went up front to eat my salad from lara and tim
then took out people on the party boat ... 21 freet cabin boat ... one load after another ... at one point ... 3 or more parties were waiting for rides ...
then sunset came ... and had 4 people helping put the party boat away
then we tied a tender on the c boat and went to the boye ... must have taking me an hour to do it ... first we missed the boye a few times ... then we had it ... but lost the tender in the process ... ... ...
oh ... a c boat pulling a tender behind is difficult turning ...
after we did it ... we rode back to the party boat to find one panel of the door and lock it up for the night ... ... ... we did find the panel, which we could not find before ... ... ...
we had a cold water and a can of pop ... just relaxing ... then we noticed that the tender was no longer tied up to the boat ... only a short rope was left on the boat ...
we thought of smimming to shore ... but then we called tim ... living 2 blocks away ...
tim made a salad ... and talked to lara on the balcony untiel after 1 am
