We are moored. That is a funny story too. so I'll start with that. Darrell and Nancy let us use their mooring ball too but when we arrive there is a guy on the mooring. He says he is supposed to be there. Ahhh what do we do? so we are being squatters. yup the next ball over in a different line from a different shipyard was open so we took it. We are waiting for someone to kick us off but no one so far. Well as it turns out the mooring ball we were supposed to be on really is gone. some boater ran over it and cut the line. Still no mooring for us. The owner said we could use number 11 for a while... he thought a week. ha ha we will see. using someone else's mooring ball just has not seemed to work for us. We are in Mystic River... yup Mystic seaport... well we are 3 miles down river from the main hub but still seems ok to call it Mystic Seaport. There are mooring balls after mooring balls... lines and lines... rows and rows... miles and miles... and most people are moored and not out sailing. crazy! I like a good mooring ball now and again when we are going to see the sights. it is pretty secure and that makes me sleep well at night. smile...
Ok so this morning I woke up at about 5:30am look up (we were sleeping out on the deck again.) full of dew and the clouds were way cool but not cool enough for me to go down and get the camera. now if Ben saw those he would. then a bit later I heard the classic Fog Horn. Baaaa woooo Gaaaa! Bassss wooo Gaaaa! so fun I looked around and the place is socked in with Fog! amazing! you can't see but 100 feet. Well here we go getting ready for Maine where it is fogged in all day??? yikes!!!
today is exploring Mystic Seaport a 3 mile Kayak paddle.

I love the pictures! Ben kinda looks like Indiana Jones with that hat and shirt! hehehe :) It looks like you guys are having quite the adventure. And that little sweetie Lila seems like she's doing really good on the boat. It's hard to know about cats if they will do well with change or not. Glad that is working out for you and her. :)
ReplyDeleteNothing too exciting to report on the work front. Your typical summer. Just a few interpreter snafu's that we told you about. Mostly positive feedback about the Tier 2 group emails so that is good! Erin and I have been in the office alone for the last couple days and everything is going smoothly. Yesterday we even had a busy snap putting in over 50 jobs yesterday so that was really good!
On a personal level, I've been gone so much on the weekends that my house is an awful mess but I am letting go. Plenty of time to clean in the long, cold MN winters! My mom is finally moving out of Keith's house. She bought a house in Plymouth and we are helping her move in next weekend. That will be a lot of work but it will be good for her. My kids are enjoying the summer a lot too. Travis is in a new daycare at the school and he really likes it. They go on fieldtrips to different places every week so he is loving that. Andrea has been staying "home" this summer but the majority of the time she has been spending the night at friends houses and doing this and that so she hasn't been home much. She is going to head to a youth camp for a week too in August so that will be fun for her.
That's pretty much all I can think of for now. I hope you are enjoying yourself this summer. We miss having your smiling face around but it's really nice to read your blogs because we get a little bit of Pam everyday! Take care and tell Ben I say Hi!
