Night shift continued - check out my website!

We have arrived early to deltaville. We actually arrived to the enterance at three am right at the time of my shift. So I am wasting time tacking back and forth cuz the enterence to deltaville you barely want to tackle it during the day let alone the night. It is curvey and a small channel and I have grounded twice in the day light. So ben went to bed and said enjoy sailing around. Oh and by the way you are almost out of house batteries. Whcih means I have to run the engine for a while. So I set out straight east. Trimmed the sail inefficiently so I would go slow and I still ended up cruising at 6 knots. Crazy!
Then I was headed for the shipping lane. I saw a ship way off. Plenty of time to catch it on radar. I could not sight it. I played with the gain. Still no pink blob on my screen. I thought I'll wait to see how close he gets and I hope he stays in the shipping lane and I will stay out of it. I got as close to the lane as I wanted then tacked back directly west. He must think I'm silly to make a 180 degree turn I'll be out here the whole night. If he thought that he would be right. Ha ha ha. This time I drew a picture of the light configuration. I'm not tired and am wide awake. I know what I saw which is the opposite of what I thought I learned. I can't wait to look it up tomorrow in our sailing book. There really is less traffic here than all those freighters sitting around in the Atlantic. And I am sailing 5 miles east then 5 miles west. Then I get to do it again cuz I am jammin in the wind. Bonus I got the cape horn to work! Gotta love that mechanical thingie of an auto pilot.
5;44am the moon is setting and the sun us rising. It is partly cloudy and still a bit hazey. I just tacked back east to enjoy 5 knots and to watch the pink become the sunrise. Welp tonight is the last sail of the season. I have my list of things to do and then my mind has already started a work to do list.
Make videos: promo video of training classed and teaching videos. Oh hey all those that have not seen my website lately bop on www.aslis.com. Let me know if the opening video works. I went to wifi last week and bens computer (yes a mac) his worked fine and of course my computer it did not work. Grrrrr! So all you check it out. Let me know what worked or didn't and for any grammar mistakes. Deanna edited and produced the videos. It was fun. The first video took us two hours for two minutes but then I got the hang of not making so many mistakes. More to come.
Arrived and took a shower and shaved! Then we biked to a late lunch yum crab cakes ! Then walked the pier re-met a couple we met two weeks ago. Toured theirboat. Now to nappy after watching a big storm again.
Anchor is tight I shall sleep soundly!
