Owen Over Board

Ok ok it's not like he fell off. It was time for him to know what was out there so he won't want to jump or walk on the railings.
Ben and I went swimming in the bay today, me for the first time. (there were no jellies that we could see) after our swim I handed owen to Ben who was still in the water. Owen's eyes got huge and he flew up the ladder. all that ladder training while on the hard did him good. He knew exactly what to do. so now when we leave the boat we will put out the ladder incase he jumps in which after today I doubt he will try it any time too soon.
Today we have friends of dad come. It was a first time for me swimming in the Bay, a first time for his friends going sailing, a first time for owen swimming, a first time for dad lassoo-ing a line around the pilon for parking the boat, a first for fishing although I did not fish Dad's buddy fished, a lot of firsts.
for those of you that did not answer about what to do with Jelly fish stings, Joe said to put meat tendorizer or clorox on the stinging part and it nutralizes it. My grocery shopping list now includes meat tendorizer.
Another successful backing job and coming to the slip job by me! of course I could not do it with out Ben. He is getting to know really well how to direct me to the slip. I was coming in a bit fast and he calmly said, slow down. I had a cross breeze so I learned a little bit of what not to do with a cross breeze.
I had a mensa puzzler for the day but forgot it now and it was a good one too.
oh here is another answer to the tackometer on the Yanmar engine... the guy at Yanmar said that the contacts are rusted. They are not on the alternator they are on the fly wheel. we stillhavenot found them yet. we have a 4jh4 engine so if anyone wants to enlighten us... I'm all ears. pictures are good for us. smile.
it is offical my sunscreen smells nice but does not work! I loaned the sunscreen to the friends that came cuz they forgot sunscreen and they got a little crispy too.
tomorrow a big day of shopping the shoving off the marina one more time to be gunkholers.
Ben and I are knowing more and more that chesapeake in the summer is not the place to be for wind or for coolness. everyone keeps saying it is hotter than stink here and humid plus no wind come july 4th. soooo we will be chasing the windy spots once dad goes home. (this one is for Nola, you know dad, he arrived 3 days early (surprise) and then yesterday he said he was staying until tomorrow and today he said he will leave on friday. not that I mind but make up your mind. I said he can stay as long as he likes but we are not staying at the "tajmahall" harbour of this earth. why stay here when you can anchor out in the bay and dingy in for free! - I might be a bit stingy but guess who I learned it from. ha ha ha)
I like having wifi for a moment here. I am downloading the new operating system for the iphone! exciting worth day harbour stay this time.
catch ya all later,
Pam
one last thing to be thankful for!!! tongiht while blogging one of our new found friend's kid Triston came running in all excited.... our dog found your cat. we think it is your cat, he is black with a bell. that would be owen... I did not believe it could be Owen, so Ben ran outside and then came back to the wifi room with Owen in his arms. I guess Owen knows how to jump ship. next time when we leave we will pull the boat away from the dock. silly kitty! he was right outside the doors where we were. How did he know we were here??? amazing!!! God is amazing in all his goodness to us. and we thank the peterson's dog "Smeagol" (sp)!!
ok now I can stop blogging. how was that for play by play blogging!
