Can't start engine. Ran aground again!

It was a beautiful day as normal in the bay. Winds 5-10 nnw. We left the bay and never turned on the engine. We pulled up and sailed away! Pretty Fansy I'd say. Today is Saturday on the bay. That means everyone is out boating. I counted 91 sailboats! Ben wanted to sail. I was ok going until I saw all the boats. It was not as bad as I thought.
We sailed from herring bay to little choptank river. It started windy then turned to the dulldrums. Good practice for us. We waited it out and the wind picked up and poof we were crusing fast at 17 know winds. I wanted to build up the battery cuz we had one battery that was going dead. Ben loved the fact that we were saili g the whole day without using electricity. He was right we had two batteries and only one was compromised. Getting into the river the winds picked up so we sailed as long as possible. (too long maybe?) then we were going thru a narrow area we tried to start the engine but no go!!! Eeek. No need to panic we can sail in the little bay and pull up into wind and drop anchor we will get style points. The only problem with me wasthere was a bunch of boats in that inlet already. We have no power so if we miss the mark we could run into them. A proposition I rather not endeavor on. So I must have cut the edge too close. Oh we turned off all our electronics in hopes that all we need is enough juice to start. So I had no depth gauge. There was a ridge of 20 feet to 5 feet. Darn it we ran aground no engine. I told Ben let's try the engine now. Of course I said a few more prayers. Just like in the morning I asked for safety! The engine started and Ben tried to get us off. But no luck. Then another sailboat offered to help! We had engine power they had power and slowly we zipped right out. Afterwards we dingyed over and thanked them profusely they are Pete and Pam. Very nice couple with lots of experience and kindness!
Ben loves to ride the edge of things. I do not. I like safe adventure but maybe adventure is not adventure if it is safe? Hummm.
Now we have no lights on and nothing drawing juice. One extreme to the other. In our defense we are not sure the electrical systems and will call " the Heart" system operator and ask questions. Do u leave the heart on while sailing ? How are the batteries charged. Etc.
Too mush excitement for today!!
I'm going to bed.
Thank you Lord for the people In Our lives you send to us. Thanks for Pete and Pam!!!
Zzzz
oh one last thing. Since the lights are out I went to the head in The dark. I pumped the sea water and the water had biofosferecense. Things that look Fireflies lighting up the water! Way cool! I'm dreaming of fairy princess mermaids of the deep.
Good night all!
Pa
